I know now why I love this saying so much, because it has to do with witches!!
The salt was supposed to make a witch weak, hence the pinch of salt, and the punch would help get rid of the witch, weakened from the salt.
Also (though I shouldn't write that because I'm always the second one to say it, so I want to have the possibility to retaliate, but) adding "and no returns" to the end of the phrase should prohibit the person to whom the phrase is said from responding.
Another counter spell would be to shout "white rabbits" to the one casting the pinching and the punching before he can finish his sentence and it would allow you to administer a punch instead.
Heehee I love this saying, a close first in my it-list with "Made you look, made you stare, made you lose your underwear"
Robin: "I am a little hungry."
BatMAn: "Of course, Robin. Even crime-fighters must eat. And especially you. You're a growing boy and you need your nutrition."
A year ago Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows was released, last and only time I got to go and get it at midnight. So many memories. The wait for the "Knight bus" in a perfect foggy gloomy Harry Potter evening, the dozens of witches and wizards all dressed up in town, the decorations in Waterstones, Hagrid and Snape at the till, the walk back home in the middle of the night under the misty streetlamps (which hadn't vanished), and the reading of the very first page back in bed.
The Bristol entry is finally updated and over with - see below - there will be no birthday update, but a new exciting project on the way!
Lots of birthday wishes for me. I had a lovely day, update to come later!
There is nothing like l'huile Ambre Solaire to set the tone, one sniff of it, even on Christmas Day, would send you right on the beach.
Ah and obviously good music too, something like Chupee by Cocoon is just perfect for this time of the year!
