Merry Christmas !!

Preparation: 15 mn
Cooking time: 35 mn

What you need to make some good gingerbread:
250 g honey (honey with a strong taste like fir honey (miel de sapin) / chestnut honey (miel de châtaignier) / heather honey (miel de bruyere)
10 cl hot milk
100 g butter
200 g flour
1/2 packet of baking powder
50 g brown sugar (or ideally some nice cassonade)
1 egg
a pinch of salt
cinnamon, ginger, clove, nutmeg ... some also put walnuts, hazelnuts, almonds, coconut, but this is not true gingerbread to me, I personnally only put loads of cinnamon, a bit of nutmeg and a touch of orange peel. And it tastes delicious.


Directions:
Whisk the honey with the hot milk.
Rub the melted butter in with the flour (beat vigorously if it goes lumpy)
Add the baking powder, brown sugar, egg and salt
The final touch, add the spices and nuts according to taste.
Pour batter into cake pan.
Bake for 30-35mn at 180-200°C.

I think it's time to do the letter!

I'm a little busy at the moment, I'm on a secret mission with Santa (well and there is life and work too ' ^ ^) but shh can't say a word.

St Nicholas came to see me last night!! Itd been a while!
Ive been so nice this year that I think that Santa thinks that I deserved the extra attention.
Besides, lets be honest I'm probably the most Christmasey person on Earth after the elves, actually no I'm probably just like an elf. I watched the movie Elf last week and I did spot some similarities '^ ^ so if someone should get to get excited twice I think it should be me.
I found lots of presents under my tree when I got up this moning and I didn't hear a thing last night, not even my christmas bell at the door !! I wonder how he got in ..

So much happening today! A pinch and a punch on the first of the month, a first chocolate from the advent calendar (two in my case cos I have two calendars yay me ^ ^), and today is also the day the truth about the Harry Potter's eighth book was revealed since the "hall" was finally opening.
I checked the website round 11.30am, the countdown was showing half an hour to go, but 30minutes before what exactly? nothing at all? the whole thing was a scam and the owner of the website wouldn't even bother updating it? or something magical would appear and drag me to waterstones to get the next book that was indeed coming out!
Well it turned out to be neither of the two, but still it's a nice story. At 12, the hall was now open. You have to log on the website to access the rest of it, you just have to give your name to get the password and up to then I didn't want to because of the whole hoax thing again. But.. once the "hall was open" meaning that at least the website was being updated and my curiosity being too big anyway I couldn't just wait to check on other websites later, I had to see it for myself. I honestly didn't have much faith and thought that something silly would pop up, that this was just too good to be true, but no! there is a book, even if it is not an authentic. Still, as the Quibbler informs you when you arrive on the website, this project has "stormed the Muggle internet over the past month". So what is it exactly? James Potter and the Hall of the Elders' Crossing relates the adventures of Harry Potter's firstborn son, James Potter. His author, G. Norman Lippert will release online one chapter per day for twenty one days. Now come on G., you could have written twenty four really and it would have just been perfect. It is like having a Harry Potter advent book. I like the idea!




I haven't started reading it yet but I hope it is good. And anyway even if it is not JK Rowling good, it is still a whole book of Harry Potter stuff and looking at the website, the intro is brilliant, the wizard / muggle version of the website funny (cf pic below), the idea of releasing a chapter per day wicked, plus it's Christmas time, so I'm confident that it should be a hit, at least for me!
